Gas Terminalling at Africare Upgrade to Gas Campaign

Gas Terminalling participated in the Upgrade to Gas campaign organized by Africare. The campaign which was aimed at sensitizing people and communities on the danger of cooking with firewood, charcoal, kerosene, and the benefits of switching to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for cooking, also addressed the needed orientation for the communities and participants on the safety measures to put in place when using cooking gas.

Gas Terminalling registered its presence at the events which held at Ikorodu, Ajibulu-Oshodi (both in Lagos), Nyanya and Bwari (both in Abuja).

In order to assist people in the visited communities who were eager to switch to LPG but without immediate means of switching, Gas Terminalling, as part of its corporate social responsibility, donated complete set of its 6.25kg Lite Gas cylinders to some participants at each of the events, and also discounted its cylinder price to encourage members of the communities where the campaign held have access to its high-quality cylinders, and promote a quick switch.

One of the beneficiaries of the donated cylinders Ms Mary Ogah; a food vendor, during the Oshodi campaign could not hold her joy during the presentation. According to her, she spends over N4000 daily on charcoal which not only erode her profit, but also makes her cooking environment look somewhat untidy and causes irritations to her eyes. She claimed her plan before Gas Terminalling’s intervention was to save up to buy a cylinder as the challenge of cooking with charcoal was becoming unbearable for her, but the donation was an answer to her prayers.

She was very positive on the impact the donation would have on her health, business profitability and hygiene.

The beneficiaries were full of thanks to Gas Terminalling and Africare.
